Character Research

Creating character for my animation isn't easy I have to create each peiece of my character and try various position, emotion and style to make it more original so I Researched on diffirent kind of Illustration from the BIGACTIVE.com site and found few illustration that may or may not help me develope my struggle to create my perfect character.

Filipe Jardim

My first artist research is a man named Filipe Jardim, his character illustration are more like fashion models because u get the basic shape of a model and using only fine-liner and simple stroke to create that straight lines and curves that made it more like a fashion sketch.

MIMI Leung

This particular artist created her charaters in a style of paint splatter and I think buble gum gave her abit of influence on the strings attached to her characters most of her illustration are colourful and most of her characters doesnt have body which I think is a downfall on her character design but its a good design in my opinion i like how she use laptop, phone, camera in one of her design the illustration is not very detailed but u can tell by its shape and the main thinng that u will notice at first is the colorfull paint character.

Adrian Johnson
Adrian Johnson's style of character are somewhat similar to old cartoon style like samurai jack in catoon network similarities in style and has that abstract feel on each design, I like how he make his patterns abstract and incorporate it in one of his design character like the soldier with so many differnt abstract patterns in his cap and clothes.

Rockwell Parra
All of Parra's character have one thing in common and very obivous to spot from the other research ive look through I chose his style because of not his character but because of that one design that made it more original.
Every character that he made has exaggeratingly have long nose/mouth you cant tell that that is a mouth until it opens and I think he got his inspiration from an ant eater if you see an ant eater it has the same for as his character and most of it have the same similarities.

Tim Burton
Not only at first he was a film director but he was a character designer too, the dark concept of his character that made him his very first movie Night before christmas, that dark, skinny, black and white character inspired me to develop my own individual character, I like his style using undead, sketleton, zombies for his characters and adding dark envirolment really enhance to his character and blend in with the concept.
